Blur unveils two new tracks on Twitter

British alternative band Blur in their first performance in three years on July 2, 2012 unveiled two new tracks online. The band took the stage on top of the Damon ALbarn’s recording studio in west London for the concert and played the tracks like ‘The Puritan’ and ‘Under The West Way’ which have been penned down for the Olympic show next month.

While talking about the recordings earlier, Albarn said, “I wrote these songs for Hyde Park and I’m really excited about getting out there and playing them for people.” The performance was updated live for fans on the social networking site Twitter and the two new songs were released on iTunes.

Blur will also be performing at the Hyde Park concert on August 12, 2012 which will also mark the end of the London Olympics. Apart from that the band will also be performing in three warm up shows the details of which are listed below.

August 1 Margate Winter Gardens
August 5/6 Wolverhampton Civic Hall
August 7 Plymouth Pavilions

Blur was formed in the year 1988 as Seymour. The band released their debut album ‘Leisure’ in the year 1991. It then changed its name to Blur in the year 1997, while it showcase its style in different genres.
