Colombian singer Shakira and American singer Usher have been roped in as mentors for the upcoming series of ‘The Voice’ in America. The show is at present in the third season and Christina Aguilera and Cee Lo are taking a break from the NBC show.

The upcoming fourth season will also have the original coaches like Maroon 5’s Adam Levine and Blake Shelton. Aguilera will be busy touring to support her new album while Cee Lo Green is developing new music and also a sitcom based on his life for NBC.

Christina released a statement which said, “As I have expressed since day one of the show… I am a singer and performer first and I am so excited to get back to that love.” However the singer also confirmed that she would love to return to The Voice in future as done by Cee Lo Green who said that he will be back for the season five.

The outgoing singers encouraged Shakira and Usher to make themselves at home while on the coach’s chairs. Bob Greenblatt, the NBC entertainment chief said that the network was glad to support Aguilera and Green by allowing them to take time away from the programme.
