Social networking site Facebook has launched a new job-hunting site, which it hopes will help more than 1 billion users find their next career opportunity. The new app is known as the Social Jobs App, which was announced on November 15, 2012 as a result of the social network’s year long partnerships with the US department of Labour, Direct Employers Association, National Association of State Workforce Agencies and National Association of Colleges and Employers.

At present, users can browse through more than 1.7 million openings. A ticker at the top of the app shows the exact number of available jobs on the site that users can browse, in order to get connected to prospective employers.
