2010 Winter Olympics Begins at Vancouver
The 21st Winter Olympics has begun at Vancouver today and it is undoubtedly one of the biggest sports event in the whole world.
According to reports, a few Winter Olympics events will take place at British Columbia as well as in – a Vancouver suburb. This also happens to the the third time that Canada will be the hosts of the Winter Olympics.
All eyes will be on the traditional Olympic torch which will be used to mark the beginning of this event.
Sources say that almost 55,000 people are expected to be present for the Opening Ceremony.
The event will be aired live on NBC in the U.S., and CTV in Canada, besides various streaming options online.
Governor General Michaelle Jean will preside over the opening ceremony.
Ski jumping is the first event to kick start this year’s Winter Olympics.
