Manchester United stunned by Leicester City, Lampard scores against Chelsea and West Brom upset Tottenham.

Sunday, September 21, 2014 was an eventful day in the English Premier league (EPL). Manchester United are off to a bad start in the 2014-2015 season of the EPL as they were beaten by newcomers Leicester City. Former Chelsea player Frank Lampard scored against his old club as Manchester City drew 1-1 with Chelsea. In the other underdog emerges as winner, West Brom upset Tottenham 1-0.

Things don’t look pretty for Manchester United as they have a bad start in the Premier League. The Red Devils were beaten by newcomers Leicester City in their away game. Manchester United were 2-0 up in the first 16 minutes with goals from Robin Van Persie and Angel Di Maria.

A spirited performance by the home side saw them come up twice from 2 goals down to 5-3 at full-time. United were reduced to 10-men as Tyler Blackett were shown a red-card.

Lampard scores against Chelsea

Manchester City rely on Frank Lampard to deny Chelsea a victory at the Etihad stadium. Frank Lampard is currently on loan at Manchester City from New York City FC, to whom Chelsea sold him before the season began. Chelsea’s manager, Jose Mourinho said that Lampard’s “love story” with Chelsea was over.

In his 13 years at Chelsea, Lampard scored 147 goals, making him the highest goal scorer in the history of the club.

West Brom upset Tottenham

West Brom recorded their first victory of the season as they upset Tottenham 1-0 at home. James Morrison scored the lone goal of the match, which leaves the Spurs without a win in the league.

After the match, Tottenham’s manager, Mauricio Pochettino said, “I am angry or disappointed – I don’t know the best word to show my feelings. We had a bad day.”
