The 50th anniversary episode of sci-fi series Doctor Who will feature all the eleven actors who have played the Time Lord till now. Steven Moffat, lead writer and executive producer of the show since the fifth series (2009) is working on a script for this epic episode where the present doctor Matt Smith will seek the assistance of his predecessors.

Doctor Who 50th anniversary

The first three doctors William Hartnell, Patrick Troughton and Jon Pertwee died years ago, so their characters will be resurrected onscreen using studio trickery and they will be seen in brief flashbacks.

Christopher Eccleston, after some initial hesitation has given his consent and Tom Baker, Peter Davidson, David Tennant, Colin Baker, Sylvester McCoy and Paul McGann have all agreed to be a part of the episode that is set to be broadcast in November 2013.

There may also be a role for the doctor’s wife, Alex Kingston in the episode and some say that she could also be the reason for all the doctors to come together, against the Time Lord’s wishes. However, other companions like Karen Gillan, Billie Piper, Arthur Darvill and Freema Agyeman will not be getting the opportunity to share screen space in the anniversary episode.

The 10th and 20th anniversary of the show had also been celebrated a very similar manner, where the first three and five doctors had gathered together respectively.
