Reports state that there has been lots of damage – many buildings have collapsed, lots of cars are crushed and many homes too, have suffered damages. Carter said, “The South Island’s really bearing the worst of it at the moment.” Luckily the place escaped with no human loss, as there were no deaths reported in the region, but people have suffered from serious injuries as severe as broken bones and cuts.

The nation’s army would soon be sending its troops to resettle the place.
