The Samsung Galaxy Tab is here and it is likely to be a worthy competitor of the Apple iPad. The new Galaxy Tab, which is Samsung’s newest tablet computer, will be available in the European market in October, and will be priced at €690. The Galaxy Tab will be running on the latest Android 2.2 FroYo, and comes with a whole lot of great features.

Samung’s tablet computer comes with a 7 inch touchscreen display and has two cameras in the offering, one in the rear and the front. The rear camera comes with a 3 mega pixel lens with an LED lamp, while the front has a 1.3 megapixel camera. The software part is the best as Samsung has stated that the new Android in the Galaxy Tab will be supporting 85-90% of the Android applications available in the market.

There is a 1Ghz Cortex A8 Processor which is really fast and makes application on the tab really quick too. There will be two option for the storage of the tab, as it comes with a 16GB and 32GB storage space, in addition to a micro SD storage slot that can expand till 32 GB.

So what other specs of Samsung’s Galaxy Tab stand out? It has a long battery life of 7-8 hours maximum, and it has the new TFT screen, instead of a AMOLED. With regards to the multimedia support, it can support DivX, Xvid, WMV and MPEG-4 to watch videos and listen to music. Plus it has Adobe Flash 10.1 and has an internet HSPA of 7.2 mbps.

All together the Galaxy Tab is indeed a really good tablet package and it seems it is threatening the Apple iPad market very soon. Or is it?
