UK Today News: American Hiker Sarah Shourd Released By Iranian Authorities On Tuesday
American hiker Sarah Shourd has been released by the Iranian authorities on Tuesday ever since she was detained back in July 2009, reports CNN.
Shourd ‘s lawyer Masoud Shafii stated that she has been released from Evin Prison and the bail amount of $500,00 has been paid. Reports state that the judge permitted Shourd to be released on a huge bail since she suffers from a medical condition, and reportedly has a lump in her breast, according to her family.
The 32 year old Shourd, was detained by the Iranian government, along with Shane Bauer, and Josh Fattal, after reports state that they supposedly crossed the Iranian border while hiking in Iraq, and were accused of spying for the U.S. The two men continue to remain in judicial custody.
