UK Today News: Chinese Artist of Contemporary art Ai Weiwei under house arrest
Ai Weiwei, a Chinese artist claims that he has been put under house arrest. The reason for this is reported to be the Chinese authorities belief that he wants to protest against the demolishing of his new studio situated in Shanghai.
The artists was called by the concerned authorities, to build the studio but now the construction is declared as illegal and therefore, it is on the verge of demolition. He wanted to have a party at his studio before it got demolished.
Ai Weiwei has been one of the main in the creation of Olympic Bird’s Nest stadium at Beijing, his home town where he is currently under house arrest.
As of now, London is showing Ai Weiwei’s latest installation of sunflower seeds at its Tate Modern.
Ai Weiwei is one of those few artists who have been into contemporary Chinese art. He is taking the art form forward since past 20 years now.
