Swiss tennis player Roger Federer claimed victory on November 12, 2012 in the semi finals of the ATP World Tour Finals, which was to be Andy Murray’s party. Federer was up against Britain’s first grand slam champion in 76 years and the crowd was well behind the hometown hero as he tried his best to reach the tournament finals for the first time.

The Scott has had his duels with the greatest player the game has ever seen, as he battled and lost Wimbledon, while claiming revenge with an Olympics Gold medal. For this tournament, Murray was disappointed with the result and said, “Obviously I would have liked to have finished with a win. That didn’t happen, but it’s been the best year of my career by a mile. To look back on that negatively now would be silly because I’ve achieved things I’ve never achieved before.”

Federer recovered after a shaky start and went on to wow Murray with good all-round tennis. Murray did have his moments, but he made a lot of errors and lost advantage.

The Swiss great now will have to face world number one Novak Djokovic in the finals of the tour.
