UK Today News: Indonesian volcano death toll rises as Mount Merapi continues to erupt

Around 120 people are dead. as the ash from the Indonesian volcanic mountain Mount Merapi, in Central Java erupted since October 26th and still continues to do so. Recent reports say that a few more people have died, but very few can be identified as the ash that killed people was around 600 degrees hot.

Mount Merapi still continues to erupt and hot ash clouds are forming which is getting more dangerous. This data was collected from the Indonesian Volcanology Technology Development agency. The data also states that the crater is around 450-600 degrees Celsius and hit a village close to the mountain.

Dr. Sardjito Hospital in Central Java said,

“We have only been able to identify 11 of the dead because the burns were just too severe.”

The eruption that took place on Friday, has been the biggest since Mount Merapi started erupting on the 26th of October.
