The Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton on September 13, 2012 made her first speech abroad in Malaysia. Middleton spoke in slow and measured tone and said that she and William were hugely excited to have arrived in Malaysia.

The speech marked her second public speech where she addressed the staff and patients after touring the facilities with William meeting those being looked after. Kate said, “William and I are hugely excited to be in Malaysia – this, our first ever visit – and are absolutely delighted to have been invited to join you all here at Hospis Malaysia.”

Middleton also said that it is also so exciting to learn about the country’s very first paediatric palliative carte programme and to witness something of the wonderful work of Hospis Malaysia’s superb staff. Kate also expressed that being the patron of East Angila Children’s Hospice, a UK based charity, she was thrilled to hear that they have been working with Hospis Malaysia.

At the end the Duchess thanked for being invited and wished every one the best for the exciting new initiative. The visit was second for Kate and William engagement in the country. Before the Royals left Singapore, they made a moving visit to the Commonwealth war graves at Kranji Memorial.
