London Mayor announces annual festival of cycling

On the basis of the popularity of Britain’s two-wheel Olympic triumphs Boris Johnson has announced Ride London which is a cycling bonanza including a mass road race. Ride London will be held over the weekend next summer.

More than 20,000 people are expected to participate in the 100km ride. Everyone from the top professionals, family members and children will ride their bikes through London in other parts of the event. The event has been announced after the Team GB’s double gold medal winning cyclist Laura Trott. The London Mayor said that this was the moment for the great leap forward in cycling. The weekend will begin and Freecycling ride which will be open to all.
