The passengers at UK’s Heathrow airport were reportedly stranded, as only a few flights were functional. The freezing weather conditions in the UK has also affected many train routes, and reports state that the Metropolitan and the Bakerloo were affected as well.

On Monday morning, some 60 flights of British Airways were supposed to take off, but due to the extreme temperatures further 70 flights were cancelled. The BA authorities have requested passengers to cancel all the flights, which are not so essential. “Most of our aircraft are still frozen. With incredibly low temperatures at Heathrow, it’s difficult to get anything moving,” a BA spokesman said.

The passengers have also been requested to first confirm with their respective airways, if their flights are scheduled as per time before reaching the airport.
