UK Today News: NYC marathon results 2010 – Meredith Vieira finishes marathon, Gebre Gebremariam wins
Meredith Vieira is one happy woman after finishing the 2010 New York City marathon (NYC marathon) and making it to the “results list” of the people who completed the running event. Chilean miner Edison Pena also crossed the finish line on Sunday, making it yet another memorable day in his life.
Reports state that Vieira, who is a co-host of NBC’s ‘Today’ show, crossed the finish line of the 26.2 mile NYC Marathon, and was reportedly showered with roses and champagne on resuming work on Monday. She, along with her co-host Al Roker ran on Sunday’s marathon and were cheered on by family and friends as they completed it.
The 2010 NYC marathon results saw Ethiopia’s Gebre Gebremariam winning his first ever ING New York City Marathon in two hours, eight minutes, 14 seconds. In the woman’s category, Edna Kiplagat of Kenya won the marathon, followed by , American runner Shalane Flanagan.
