Ingrid Pitt, the Hollywood horror movie star, passed away on November 23, 2010 in London. The actress was reportedly going for a dinner when she suddenly collapsed. Pitt was 73 years old.

According to reports, Ingrid Pitt died after she suffered a stroke. Her daughter Steffanie Pitt said, “It was heart trouble. She had a couple of bad years, health-wise. She was a fantastic woman. Anyone who knew my mother would say she was incredibly feisty.”
Though Pitt debuted in acting when she was in Germany, she got a good break in ‘Where Eagles Dare’ in the year 1968. The movie also starred Clint Eastwood and Richard Burton.
She will always be remembered for her role in the cult classic ‘The Wicker Man’. The director of the movie Robin Hardy said, “She was a very attractive person in every sense. She was a perfectly good actress but a very decent person as well.”
Pitt was named as ‘England’s First Lady of Horror’ for her roles in ‘The Vampire Lovers’ and ‘Countess Dracula’ with Hammer Film Productions.
