UK Today News: One of the popular wireless carriers in the UK, Vodafone, has recently revealed that it would be launching its new Android handset. The company has said that the handset is expected to be launched this summer.
A few details have been disclosed by the company with reports stating that Vodafone has named it Smart and is a 2.2 Android Froyo based handset. This would be a good replacement for the Vodafone 845 phone.
The handset is a light weight device and will be launched under the PAYG line-up of Vodafone. Unlike the resistive touch screen of the 845 handset, the new handset will have a 2.8 inch capacitive touch screen.
The other features of the Vodafone Smart phone include a 2 MP camera, along with some super fast browsing speed. It will have an updated version of the Froyo and has a better and faster performance compared to the earlier versions of the Android OS. The handset will be the lightest handset in the market, which will weigh just 100 grams. Customers will be offered customized designs for the covers and will have the dimensions of 56 X 106 X 12mm. The company will also be power packing the handset with some pre-loaded apps. The home screen of the phone will allow the user to have direct access to Facebook, Twitter, e-mail and web browser.
