American professional basketball player Dwyane Wade is in need of a surgery on his ailing knee and will not be able to participate in the upcoming London Olympics 2012. The Olympic coach Mike Krzyzewski on June 28, 2012 revealed the news and this was not expected at all after Wade played through pain in the post season.
Dwyane also played in all the 23 Heat playoff games despite the know problem. The basketball player said, “I’ve decided to listen to my doctors and get the procedure I need on my knee”. Wade added, “USA Basketball said I had to do what was best for me. They want me to be obviously as healthy as possible so I can continue to play this game at a high level. They were very supportive and told me if I ever want to come around the team, I’m welcome and that I’m part of the family.”
The doctors and the basketball player are now in the process to schedule the date of the surgery. Wade has been told that it would be a clean up procedure after which the player will have to be on clutches for just about a day after the procedure.
And of everything goes according to the plan then the player will be up for the training session with the Heat this fall.
