Andy Williams dies of bladder cancer at 84

UKTodayNews.com: American singer Andy Williams, known for his good looks and the host of ‘The Andy Williams Show’, died on September 25, 2012 at his residence in Branson. The family of Williams announced that he was suffering from bladder cancer.

The singer was 84-years-old and the year 2012 had marked the 75th year of the host in showbiz. Andy is survived by his wife Debbie and three children Noelle, Christian and Robert.

The singer has 17 gold as well as three platinum records to his name and enjoyed his golden years by playing golf. Williams split his time between LA Quinta California and Branson, where he has been appearing at his Andy Williams Moon River Theatre since the year 1992.

On that very theatre in November 2011, he announced that he was suffering from bladder cancer. The host at that time had assured his fans that his disease was not a death sentence and that he has will be a survivor.

As a youngster, Williams sang in his family’s church choir with his older siblings Dick, Bob and Don. The host then got married to French dancer Claudine Longet in the year 1961 and had three children. After splitting from Longet in 1975 the singer got married to Debbie Williams in 1991.
