UK Today News: Activists Say That North Korea Fired Torpedo on South Korean Naval Ship
Activists from Seoul, South Korea are allegedly blaming North Korea for sinking its Naval vessel last month. They say that some of the N.Korean soldiers and military officers had full knowledge of the incident. News has also came in that the soldiers were hailed in N.Korea after the incident.
The torpedo had hit the 1200 ton Cheonan and split it into to two, when the vessel was on regular patrol along the border of the two countries. 58 crew members were rescued and 38 were killed in the incident last month.
Speculation of North Korea’s involvement in the incident came up when reports came that the explosion came from outside the ship, being suspected as a mine or a torpedo.
South Korean President Lee Myung-bak has vowed on Monday to take strong action against whoever was responsible for a the explosion that sank a South Korean warship last month.
