UK Today News: Eurovision Results 2010 – Germany’s Lena Meyer-Landrut Wins Eurovision Contest
Eurovision Results 2010: Germany’s Lena Meyer-Landrut won this year’s Eurovision Song Contest in Oslo after performing a very upbeat version of the pop ballad “Satellite”.
The 19 year old Lena Meyer-Landrut said: ”I’m so happy and so thankful and so grateful and I never thought that we could do this.”
The Eurovision Song Contest, which was in it’s 55th year, saw Turkish rock band MaNga – who sang the song ‘We Could Be The Same’ – take the second place after receiving 170 points.
The Eurovision Song Contest is a yearly competition held among active member countries of the European Broadcasting Union, wherein each member country sends in a song to be performed on live television and then votes are cast for the most popular song.
