UK Today News: Red Bull Air Race New York – Air Race Championship Begins Over Hudson River at Liberty State Park

Red Bull Air Race New York: The fifth race of the 2010 Red Bull Air Race World Championship in New York will take place over the Hudson River at Liberty State Park in Jersey City on June 19 and 20. The 2010 Red Bull Air Race World Championship is currently in it’s sixth year.

Reports say that fifteen pilots will be flying “lightweight, 1200-pound planes up to 230 miles per hour through inflatable, 65-foot-tall floating pylons on a 3 mile track on the Hudson River between New York and New Jersey.” (Redbullairrace)

The Red Bull Air Race Championship begins June 19, 2010 at 12:00 PM and ends June 20, 2010 at 6:00 PM.

Since the the Red Bull Air Race Championship began six years ago, the races have been held in the big cities of the world like London, Rio de Janeiro, Barcelona, and also San Diego, Detroit, San Francisco, and Monument Valley, Utah in the United States of America.

Update: Austria’s Hannes Arch has reportedly come first in the 2010 New York Red Bull Air Race Qualifying session on Saturday. Paul Bonhomme of Britain has come in close second and Canada’s Pete McLeod is third.
