UK Today News: Russian Wildfires In Volgograd Region Sees Death Toll Of 8, Several Hospitalized
The wildfires in the Volgograd region, in Russia has reportedly critically injured nine people ,who have been hospitalized and 19 others have minor injuries, according to officials on Saturday. Reports state that atleast 8 people have been killed so far in the Volgograd wildfires which began on Friday.
Reports state that the intensity of the wildfires can be known by its flames that destroyed more than 500 buildings. The Department of Ministry informed that a total number of 531 buildings have been burnt down that included 419 residential constructions. Eavacuations are currently underway.
It is reported that the wildfires in Russia, in the month of August, have destroyed more than 2,000 homes and have killed 50 people. President of Russia, Dmitry Medvedev has ordered that appropriate measures should be taken to avoid the new outbreak of fires.
The experts from the weather department are afraid that if strong winds happen to hover the place, then that would spread the fire in the regions nearing Volgograd.
