UK Today News: Chilean Authorities Hope To Rescue The 33 Trapped Miners By Weekend
The 33 trapped Chilean miners could be possibly rescued as early as this weekend if the engineers drilling continue at the speed they are, say Chilean officials.
According to the engineers who are drilling at the site, the 33 trapped miners might be able to see the sun this weekend after a really long time. The Geotec Head, Pedro Buttazzoni who is the Chief in-charge of the drilling operations said that the drill needs to go just 160m deep into the earth and said that the drill has already broken through 464m of rock.
When the drilling process was about to begin, the authorities had informed that it would require additional time and hence more time for the trapped miners to come out. But the three machines did their work so quickly, and have increased the hopes of the miners and their families.
