UK Today News: Stay Away From Heart Disease With 3 Cups Of Tea Per Day, Say Researchers
New research encourages people to drink at least three cups of tea per day to stay clear of heart problems, which comes to quite a delight to tea-lovers. The research claims that drinking tea will keep you away from suffering cardiac attacks and strokes.
According to researchers at the University of Western Australia, drinking black or green tea decreases the likelihood of suffering from heart problems by almost 11 per cent. The scientific reason provided by researchers is that it stops the formation of plaque in the arteries — which consists of unnecessary fat and cholesterol.
The researchers also said that flavonoid present in the tea (which acts as an antioxidant), helps to fight cardiovascular problems. A cup of tea contains 150-200mg of flavonoids.
Besides, two cups of tea is equal to five portions of vegetables or two apples. So indeed it is great news for tea drinkers and a recommended preventive medicine for non –tea drinkers.
