Amy Winehouse former boyfriend appears in court on rape accusations

Reg Traviss, the former boyfriend of the late English singer Amy Winehouse on July 17, 2012 appeared in court to face two charges of rape. The 35 year old was dating the singer for more than a year.

Traviss, who is a film maker has been alleged of twice attacking a woman, who cannot be named for legal reasons, at his home address in Marylebone, Central London on last New Year’s eve. Initially the film maker was arrested on the allegations by the Metropolitan Police on April 28, 2012 and was later released on bail.

The 35 year old was seen dressed in a grey suit, black trousers, white shirt and black tie. During the hearing Traviss spoke only to confirm his identity at the Westminster Magistrate’s court today.

The charges have been put on the film maker for attacking a woman over the age of 16.When spoken to Traviss’s lawyer, he said that he would deny all the allegations at the crown court. On September 12, 2011 he was bailed to appear before Southwark Crown Court. Traviss is known for making films like Psychosis which starred Charisma Carpenter and Darkness frontman Justin Hawkins. The film maker has not yet entered pleas on the two rape accusations.
