The planners of the upcoming closing ceremony of the 2012 Olympics have assured the ultimate aftershow party. On August 12, 2012 the ceremony will begin with a 20 minute long cacophony of British music, which will reflect the life in the capital running from the Elgar to Waterloo Sunset.

Instead of filling the 80,000 capacity Olympic Stadium nation by nation, the athletes involved in the games will pour in to the infield in unison. British sailor Ben Ainslie will be carrying the Team GB flag after winning the fourth consecutive gold at the Games. The closing ceremony director Kim Gavin said that it would not be a traditional concert but will also not have the multilayered narrative of Danny Boyle’s opening ceremony.
