According to CNN, “Agnilux was founded by members of the PA Semi (originally “Palo Alto Semiconductor”) company that was purchased by Apple for $278 million in April 2008. “

PA Semi’s technology is the brain behind the sophisticated Apple-designed application processor in the iPad.

Google has confirmed on Wednesday that they have acquired Agnilux acquisition, but did not go into any details.

According to a New York Times article, the Agnilux consisted of a number of people who worked for PA Semi and then for Apple, before leaving to start the new company Agnilux. Some of the employee names that have been mentioned are Mark Hayter, chief operating officer at Agnilux, Olof Johansson who is a software engineer, and Todd Broch, an engineer. Amarjit Gill, who was the former head of sales at PA Semi, is the chief executive of Agnilux.
