The Oprah Winfrey Show will be finally coming to an end after more than two decades!
Harpo Productions has confirmed that Oprah Winfrey – who began the talk show in 1985 – will be retiring from the show in 2011.
The talk show host, started her broadcasting career in Nashville, Tenn., and Baltimore, Md., prior to moving to Chicago in 1984 to host WLS-TV’s morning talk show A.M. Chicago – which then turned into the world famous “The Oprah Winfrey Show” .
According to news reports, Oprah will officially break the news on Friday. The final episode of famous The Oprah Winfrey Show will be aired in 2011.
The , the President of Harpo, Tim Bennett, announced , “Tomorrow, Oprah will announce live on ‘The Oprah Winfrey Show’ that she has decided to end what is arguably one of the most popular, influential and enduring programs intelevision history. The sun will set on the ‘Oprah’ show as its 25th season draws to a close on September 9, 2011.”
The Oprah Winfrey show has seen Oprah talking to people from across the globe – be it actors, singers, sportspersons, doctors or even victims of abuse. The emotional sections of the show has helped open the eyes of millions of people and made them aware of what other people have been going through.
