UK Today News: Russell Crowe Slams His Past Films on Robin Hood
Robin Hood: The Gladiator legend and star, Russell Crowe has blamed and slams his previous films which were about Robin Hood, which he had starred in the year 1991.
The movie ‘Prince of Thieves’ directed by Kevin Costner, who allegedly accused Crowe of giving death threats, said that the movie didn’t like something normal but rather a Jon Bon Jovi video.
He is going to star in a new version of the character with Ridley Scott, with whom he had done Gladiator. He was asked by French TV Canal Plus Le Grand Journal, about any remakes of the Robin Hood flick again.
He was annoyed and said that a story from a 1938 classic, where a man in green tights strolls through the English land, from thorny bushes and bramble stealing peoples money…… in today’s world doesn’t sound practical.
He even appreciated Mel Brooks 1993 spinoff of Robin Hood, ‘Robin Hood: Men in Tights” as a more entertaining version. He told that filmmakers from the past had a very different view of the character. But his new film wont have anything as such, but rather the movie will explore from where does Robin Hood actually evolve.
