UK Today News: 11 US Soldiers Killed In Four Separate Incidents That Took Place On Two Consecutive Days

Two separate incidences killed four US soldiers in Afghanistan, according to the information provided by the sources. The common factor in both the incidents is bomb explosion.

These attacks took place in the eastern region of Afghanistan whereas, the attacks that took place yesterday killed seven US soldiers in two different bomb attacks in the southern Afghanistan.

The source claims that home-made bombs were used in the recent attacks. In August alone 50 US soldiers were killed in Afghanistan along with the deaths of more than 350 NATO soldiers.

Since 2001’s US attack on Afghanistan, the months of June and July have been the worst regarding the deaths of the foreign troop and in the recent past it has been worst than ever.

It is not just about foreign security getting killed, lots of the local, Iraqi security forces have been attacked and many army men, police officials have lost their lives. There is danger hovering on the heads of the Afghanistan Security Forces.

Xbox 360 live subscription fee hiked – Microsoft has just recently announced that it will be increasing its Xbox 360 live subscription fee rates. The fee hike will take place in the UK, US, Canada and Mexico. Reports state the Microsoft Xbox Live Gold Subscription rates will be increased by 1 pound in the UK. The earlier Gold monthly subscription rates of £4.99 will be priced at £5.99.

Major Nelson of Xbox Live stated on the official blog page, that since the the launch of Xbox Live in the year 2002, Microsoft has been upgrading the game site consistently and has been providing gamers with a good quality of games to play. He feels that since there will be a price rise in the Gold Subscription of Xbox live, the company will be able to offer the players and the member more better quality of gaming.

The announcement of the Xbox live fee subscription rise came just before the launch of the latest game, Halo: Reach, which has been eagerly waited by many gamers. Accessing Xbox Live is free but for one to use online gaming console, he needs to subscribe with Xbox live.

UK Today News: Hurricane Earl’s Projected Path Moves Towards United States, Reports National Hurricane Center in Miami

The National Hurricane center in Miami is tracking the projected path of Hurricane Earl and has stated that the Category 4 storm is moving towards the coast of the United States of American, and is expected to reach the coast by Thursday evening.

Reports state that Hurricane Earl has formed into a category 4 storm and has lashed a few of the Caribbean Islands with heavy rains. The storm has sustained wind speeds of 135 mph and is moving west northwest at 13 mph. The National Weather Service has stated that Earl is moving towards North Carolina and the people of the state have been warned that it could reach by Friday morning. It is also expected to reach 150 miles of the Jersey Shore on Friday.

Earl has become a large storm , and there are already reports that Tropical storm Fiona is slowly forming behind the dreaded Hurricane. It has sustained wind speeds of 40 mph, and is expected to just touch the northern Leeward Islands in Atlantic and then move out into the Ocean and will stay there.

UK Today News: Slovakia Shooting – Gunman Kills 7, Injures 15 In Bratislava Rampage

Slovakia Shooting: An anonymous shooter killed six people and left 15 people injured in Slovakia’s capital, Bratislava on Monday, according to reports provided by the TASR News Agency.

At a press conference, Slovak Interior Minister Daniel Lipsic and Police Corps President Jaroslav Spisiak told reporters that after the police surrounded the gunman on all sides, he shot himself. Among the dead, 4 were women and 2 were men.

Lipsic told reporters that the injured are receiving treatment at different hospitals in Bratislava, and among the wounded, one person is critical, and three others are in quite a serious condition.

The news of the shooting in Slovakia spread after the local police received a phone call from a person who said there were sounds of firing taking place in a flat in an apartment building. When the police reached the place, the gunman was making an exit. The gunman’s identity and his motive are yet to be revealed.

Hurricane Earl’s Projected Path Revealed: Tropical Storm Earl has been making it’s path along the Atlantic waters, and has now formed into a full fledged Hurricane, with reports stating that this Category 2 Hurricane could turn into a Category 3  one. It is reported to have become a huge threat to Antigua and Barbuda, and the British Virgin Islands, according to the National Hurricane Center.

Reports state that Hurricane Earl has managed to sustain wind speeds of above 100 mph. The storm system was forecast to pass somewhere near the Northern Leeward Islands by Monday, with hurricane warnings in place for the U.S. Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico, in addition to Antigua, Montserrat, Barbuda, St. Kitts, Nevis, Anguilla, St. Martin, St. Barthelemy, Saba and St. Eustatius, as reported by CNN.

The National Hurricane Center has stated that there is going to be strong developments in the storm system in the phase of  the next 24 hours. It has been predicted that Earl will turn into a very strong Hurricane by Tuesday. Heavy rain is expected to fall in the regions of Puerto Rico and Northern Leeward Islands, measuring around 3 to 6 inches.

The previously threatening Hurricane Danielle has moved away and is reported to be weakening on it’s northeastward path.

UK Today News: Hurricane Earl 2010 – Tropical Storm Earl Becomes Hurricane, Approaches Leeward Islands

Tropical Storm Earl has reportedly turned into a Hurricane on Sunday, 29th August 2010, after it became a threat to islands located in the eastern Caribbean. The U.S. National Hurricane Center has stated that the threatening Hurricane Danielle has weakened and is now a Category 1 storm.

Reports state that Hurricane Earl is currently located at around 365 miles to the east of the Northern Leeward Islands, and is at a speed of 75 mph (120 kmh). (Reuters) Hurricane warnings were made a few hours ago, after Earl was seen moving toward the Northern Leeward Islands.

Weather forecasts states that there were hurricane warnings in place for Antigua and Barbuda, St. Kitts and Nevis, in addition to Montserrat and Anguilla, as well to Saint Martin and Saint Barthelemy and the Dutch overseas islands.

Hurricane Danielle did not pose any threat to the oil spill region in the Gulf of Mexico.
