Uktodaynews.com: British conservative party politician Jeremy Hunt narrowly avoided hurting people standing beside him when a bell that he was ringing flew off his handle at the Olympics celebration. Hunt was trying to ring his bell on his right hand while on the deck of HMS Belfast when the brass detached from its wooden handle and tossed in the air above the deck.

Jeremy watched helplessly as the bell disappeared among a group of Olympic fans. Hunt feared that the bell might hit people standing beside him, but fortunately the bell did not hit anyone and Mr Hunt was relieved that no one was hurt and he said, “Oh, oh dear! Are you all right? Health and safety! Are you OK? There we are, disaster averted.”

The politician also mentioned it on Twitter saying, “Oops bell broke taking part in Martin Creed’s ringing in of the Games…no one hurt but classic #twentytwelve moment.”

Hunt even told BBC that he was ringing the bell in a very excited way and it collapsed in his hand.
