Heavy rains hit UK as Brits pack bags for holiday

As most of the Britons are packing their bags to head overseas for a holiday, certain parts of the UK are hit with heavy rain and winds of up to 50 mph. Yellow warnings have been put up for regions including southeast England, London, southwest England, East of England and east Midlands.

People are being warned to be aware. Warnings by the Met office will be valid from noon on July 24, 2015 to 9 am on July 25, 2015. The weather conditions have been named as the Great Summer Getaway which has already marked its beginning.
It has been estimated by the Association of British Travel Agents that 2.1 million holiday makers will head abroad and the Heathrow airport is expected to be the busiest ever day on July 24, 2015. The West London airport officials are expecting to have more than 5,00,000 passengers to travel through this weekend which includes a record breaking 131,046 on July 24, 2015.
Most of the holidayers in the UK prefer Spain but the strike planned by the Spanish Air Traffic Control Service over the weekend can cause a problem. Other preferable sites for holiday include France, Greece, Cyprus and others. The popular long haul destination is Florida.
