UK Today News: Eric LeGrand’s Injury Leaves Rutgers Player Paralyzed
Rutgers Player Eric LeGrand Paralyzed -The Rutgers’ Eric LeGrand has been paralyzed from the neck downwards, after he got injured during a game against Army on Saturday. Reports state that Eric’s injury seems to be very serious, as he underwent emergency surgery at Hackensack University Medical Center late Saturday night. He is reported to be on the road to recovery.
According to reports, Eric had no movement in his body, especially in the region below his neck. Doctors performed an emergency surgery in order to stabilize Eric’s spine, or else his condition could have deteriorated. Friends, family and fans hope that he recovers from this injury.
Grand has been kept in the intensive care unit of the Medical Center and is expected to remain there for the next couple of days. His coach told the media that he is responding to treatment and can recognize everyone around him.
Coach Greg Schiano was full of emotion at the press conference after the game at the New Meadowlands Stadium. He said, “We want to say thank you to everyone for all of your prayers, kind words, and well wishes. We appreciate every single thought. Eric is in good spirits and we are praying for a full recovery.”
