Apple’s Steve Jobs to take medical leave

UK Today News: Apple’s chief executive Steve Jobs has declared that he would be off on medical leave. In an email to his employees, Steve has informed that he would like to concentrate on his health for the moment.

Jobs has also made it clear that he would continue as the chief executive and would lend his hand in the vital decisions. The daily routine of the company would be looked after Tim Cook. “At my request, the board of directors has granted me a medical leave of absence so I can focus on my health. I will continue as CEO and be involved in major strategic decisions for the company,” he said in the email.

Due to a liver transplant, the chief executive was absent from the latter half of 2008 to mid 2009. In the year 2004, Steve was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and had undergone surgery in the same year for the removal of tumor from his pancreas.
