UK Today News: With the current crisis in Egypt, Google along with Twitter have come up with an innovative idea to help the population in Egypt in the crisis. People in Egypt can send their message to the world with the help of a ‘voice-to-tweet’ system.

Latest reports state that the internet connection in the country has gone for a toss. But people can still make use of the phones lines. The system has provided some international numbers (+16504194196, +390662207294 or +97316199855). People have to call in one of the numbers and leave a voice mail, and this voice mail will be converted in to a text message and will be tweeted as #Egypt.

The system has been developed by SayNow, which was recently bought by Google. “Like many people we’ve been glued to the news unfolding in Egypt and thinking of what we could do to help people on the ground. Over the weekend we came up with the idea of a speak-to-tweet service—the ability for anyone to tweet using just a voice connection,” Co founder of SayNow Ujiwal Singh said.

The service can be used only by the Egyptians, but it may be difficult to make the Egyptians aware of the service.
