In a move that has surprised a lot of cricket enthusiasts, New Zealand ace spinner Daniel Vettori is set to return the the national Test side for the final Test against Pakistan, which starts on Wednesday, November 26, 2014. After the Test, he has been out of action due to an injury. However, now it seems that the 35-year-old is fit and ready to take on the Pakistani challenge in the decider in Sharjah. Pakistan currently lead the 3 match series 1-0, after the beat New Zealand by a mammoth 248 runs in the first Test. The second match in Dubai ended in a draw.

For the first 2 Tests, the Kiwis fielded a rather inexperienced spin duo of Ish Sodhi and Mark Craig. The addition of Vettori will really help the team and the team will definitely use his experience and skill. It is likely that the Black Caps will replace one of the two all rounders – Jimmy Neesham or Corey Anderson – with Daniel, and retain the two spinners.

New Zealand coach Mike Hesson said, “From the first two Tests it’s been pretty clear how important spin is in these conditions and we expect the pitch in Sharjah to be the slowest of all three wickets. The possibility of having three bowlers who can exploit those conditions is an exciting option for us to have.”

Daniel Vettori is New Zealand’s most experienced player and his fans would be eager to see him take the field once again on Wednesday.
