UK Today News: China wins maximum gold medals at 2010 Asian Games

2010 Asian Games – With the men’s basketball gold win, China set the record of acquiring the maximum number of gold medals at the Asian Games 2010 at Guangzhou, China.

Reports state that the Chinese men’s basket ball team defeated the South Korean Team on Friday, at the finals for the second time with 77-71. Earlier on Thursday, the women’s basket ball team had also showed the South Korean team a thumbs down with a 70-64 points win.

In the Boxing segment, China bagged three more medals, after sending India to the second position in the sport. Zou Shiming grabbed the 49 kg men’s segment, while it was a clear win for Dong Cheng and Li Jinzi in the women’s category.

In the diving events, Cao Yuan swept the title in the men’s 10 meters platform. China has also won the 400 meters men’s relay, for the first time in 20 years, in the track and field events.

The 2010 Asian Games will end with the closing ceremony on Saturday.
