UK Today News: Born on 2nd of March 1904, American writer and cartoonist Dr. Suess became the most noteworthy writer and created the most famous characters in history. Theodor Suess Geisel became the most famous cartoonist ever known and his birthday will be fondly celebrated on 2nd March.
Dr. Suess’ birthday has become the annual National Read Across America Day, which was started by National Education Association. The author was best known for children’s books which were often characterized by fictitious characters.
He has published some 44 children’s books which included ‘Green Eggs and Ham’, ‘One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish’, ‘The Cat in the Hat’, ‘How the Grinch Stole Christmas’, ‘Horton Hatches the Egg’ and ‘Horton Hears the Who!’.
Some of the cartoon characters created by Dr. Suess are featured in the Island of Adventure theme park in Florida. The characters called Suess Landing. Dr. Suess also made political cartoons and also worked as an illustrator for advertising campaigns for Flit and Standard Oil.
