UK Today News: English guitarist and song writer Tony Iommi recently revealed that has been diagnosed with early stages of lymphoma. The 63-year-old is at present working on a new studio album with the band Black Sabbath.
After the reports, the band released a statement on their official page on Facebook, saying that with the news that Tony has been diagnosed with early stages of lymphoma and the bandmates requested all the fans to send positive vibes to the guitarists at his home. The statement further added that the guitarist is currently working with doctors for the best treatment plan the Iron Man of Rock remains upbeat and determined to make a full and successful recovery.
The statement also added that the band is writing and recording in Los Angeles with the producer Rick Rubin and that Black Sabbath will now go to the UK and continue work with Tony. However, the band has not mentioned of the health of Tony will affect the planned world tour.
As per plans, the band is supposed to tour Europe next summer. In the world of heavy metal, Tony is known as one of the most influential guitarists. In the year 2004, the guitarist was named as number one on Guitar World’s 100 Greatest Metal Guitarists of All Time.
