Jamie Waylett, who had featured as an actor in the blockbuster movie series ‘Harry Potter’, has been recently jailed for two years for his participation in the London Riots. The 22 year old actor in the movie was seen playing the role of Vincent Crabbe, Hogwarts bully. Waylett has been found guilty of violent disorder at London’s Wood Green Crown Court.

The actor is a resident of Hillfield Road, Hampstead, north west London and admitted that he swung from a stolen bottle of champagne. However, Jamie was cleared of intending to destroy or damage with a petrol bomb that he was pictured holding. The actor had gone along with at least four people to the Chalk Farm on August 8, 2012. Waylett was caught red handed on a CCTV footage with his hood over his heads. The images from the CCTV footage had shown the actor accepting a bottle of champagne from another rioter, who had just looted a Sainsbury’s supermarket and glugging down the expensive contents.

Simon Carr, the judge said that a considerable amount has been said about what happened in the last few days. The judge added that anyone watching the footage can imagine the mayhem that took place on the streets and that the accused chose to go out on the streets on what was the third day of the violence. Carr continued saying that the footage shows the actor in the near vicinity of a Sainsbury’s in Camden Which was being looted and was also pictured on a number of occasions with a bottle full of petrol with a rag as a wick.

The judge then said that he accepts the Jury’s verdict that Waylett did not intend to throw the bottle, but anyone who saw you would have been terrified. The actor will be released a year after behind the bars.
