English alternative rock band Blur’s bassist Alex James has indicated that the band’s upcoming show in Hyde Park for the 2012 London Olympics could be their last concert together. James said that the show in August could be the end or even the beginning of a new chapter for the group.

The musician also added that he does not know if it would ever happen again. James, in an interview, said, ‘The shows we did in 2009 were the best we’ve ever done and to be asked to close the Olympics was something we didn’t feel we could turn down.’

The bassist also said that it is going to be quite an emotional show and they are certainly overwhelmed by playing the songs which does not happen if you are playing them all the time. Alex added, ‘This is something that happens incredibly rarely and who knows if it will ever happen again? Or if this is the end or the beginning of the next chapter.’

The Specials and New Order have also been lined up for the show. Next Monday the band will be premiering two new tracks called ‘Under The Westway’ and ‘The Puritan’ in a performance which will be streamed live on Twitter.
