People travelling to V Festival face traffic delays

The Highways agency said that people who were travelling to the V Festival in Staffordshire are facing long traffic delays. The website of the agency reported delays of two and a half hours on the A5 between Cannock and Harpenden between the junctions with the A4601 and the A449.

The Agency added that the normal traffic conditions are expected from 14:00 BST. The V Festival event is at present in the 17th year and is being held on Saturday and Sunday ay Weston Park on the Shropshire/ Staffordshire border.

The Staffordshire Police has advised the travellers to plan their journeys and to avoid delay. The festival is also held at its sister site at the Hylands Park in Chelmsford , Essex. The headline acts of the festival includes the Stone Roses, The Killers and the Happy Mondays.

While talking about the special facilities, the paramedics at the Weston Park will this year use an all-terrain vehicle so that they can reach anyone who needs medical help. Estimations have said that about 85,000 people are expected to attend the event in Staffordshire everyday. People are expected to arrive at both the sites on August 17, 2012 itself.
