This year also marks a decade since the girls were put together by the ITV show ‘Popstars: The Rivals’ and had their first number one hit with ‘Sound Of The Underground’.
Radio 1 DJ Nick Grimshaw had called the girls ‘the defining UK girl group of the modern era’. Nicola Roberts, at a news conference in London said that the reunion, which included the girls Cheryl Cole, Nadine Coyle and Sara Harding, was ‘meant to be’ in their tenth anniversary.
Between the years 2002 and 2009, the band scored 20 consecutive top ten hits and sold 4.3 million singles. But in the year 2009, the girls decided to part ways for a while, after which Cheryl Cole, Roberts and Coyle released their solo albums.
