Snowboarder Kevin Pearce, who was one of the favorites for the Olympics beforre his Dec. 31 accident, has reportedly been transferred to a brain-rehabilitation hospital in Colorado.
According to his doctor, Holly Ledyard, the 22 year old Pearce is able to walk and handle many daily activities with some help.
Pearce, was one of the very few snowboarders who is known to have beaten Olympic gold medalist Shaun White in halfpipe contests over the past few years.
He has now been shifted to Craig Hospital – which is a leading rehabilitation center for spinal-cord or traumatic brain injuries – in Englewood, Colorado.
Kevin Pearce’s father Simon Pearce, is a well-known glassmaker and retailer.
