UK Today News: Segway Owner Dies – Jimi Heselden Killed In A Freak Accident On Sunday
Segway Owner Dies- Jimi Heselden, the owner of the Segway company (Dean Kamen was the Segway inventor), died on Sunday after a freak accident which resulted in the inventor driving one of his famous scooters off a cliff and into the River Wharfe. He was 62.

Reports state that Segway’s Jimi Heselden was on his way to inspect the grounds of his estate on Sunday morning, when the accident took place close to the estate near Boston Spa, West Yorks. Police officials reached the scene, but Heselden was pronounced dead.
In a statement, Jimi Heselden’s company said:
“It is with great sadness that we have to confirm that Jimi Heselden OBE, has died in a tragic accident near his home in West Yorkshire. Our thoughts go out to his family and many friends, who have asked for privacy at this time.”
Segway Inc. company was bought over by Heselden in 2009 and manufactures the two-wheeled self-balancing Segway PT vehicle.
