UK Today News: Popular Hollywood movie producer Laura Ziskin, who was responsible in producing some land mark movies in Hollywood like the Spiderman series, passed away on 12th June 2011. The 61 year-old had died at her home in Santa Monica, after suffering for seven long years with breast cancer.
In the year 2004, the producer was diagnosed with stage 3 cancer and had even gone through chemotherapy. Despite her deteriorated body due to the treatment, Ziskin had the courage to create the second and third installments of the Spiderman series.
Shuler Donner, who is the close friend of Ziskin and was also diagnosed with breast cancer had told her that the best way to fight the psychological effects of the disease is to be active and attend office and movie sets.
While talking about the courageous lady, Donner said that Ziskin had loved challenges and would deal with issues with a solution-oriented manner. The producer had dealt with problems related to work and her disease with ease. Moreover, Ziskin had also teamed up with her Hollywood associates to raise money for cancer problems. Ziskin along with studio executive, sherry Lansing and news anchor Katie Couric had found a non profit organization called Stand Up to Cancer.
