American war drama “The Hurt Locker” swept away most of the awards at UK’s biggest film awards show – BAFTA Awards 2010.
The Hurt Locker, which is directed by Kathryn Bigelow, beat rival James Cameron’s film Avatar and won the Best Film BAFTA Awards 2010.
The Hurt Locker won six awards including Best film, Best director, Best Editing, Best Sound, Best Original screenplay, Best Cinematography. Avatar on the other hand won awards for Best Production Design and Best Visual Effects.
Kathryn Bigelow’s ex-husband, James Cameron definitely took a beating at the BAFTA 2010 Awards this year!
The other big winners for the night were Colin Firth,who won the Best actor award for his performance in “A Single Man” and Carey Mulligan,who won the Best actress BAFTA for her role in “An Education.”
