Software giant Microsoft, has announced the availability of its Windows 8 operating system (OS) for its customers in Ireland and across the world. From October 26, 2012, people can buy the Windows 8 OS, which has a new user interface, new windows store and a range of apps.
The OS will also be available for download for existing PC’s in Ireland, as well as retail locations throughout the country. Ireland has played a major role in the launch of Windows 8 with many employees being involved in the development and testing of the product.
Team members from the Sandyford based European Development Centre have been involved in core development, localization and testing work.
